PVA- A Sound That Sticks Around
Portsmouth - The Wedgewood Rooms
7th march 23
Band - PVA
Cold winds and rain sting the cheeks on a typical march evening. Tonight's refuge from the damp is indie venue:The Wedgewood rooms. The upbeat PVA take centre stage to warm our cockles and get those stiff limbs moving to the electronic beats and bleeps that pulse throughout the room...
PVA consist of the trio: Josh Baxter, Ella Harris and Louis Satchel . The first two provide the vocals and synth or guitar as needed. Louis sits central to hold the disparate sounds in order with sticks a constant blur around his drumkit.
This tour reconnects the audience with their dynamic debut album Blush, no news on new material, but I am sure that the album still gains new ground and admirers. It is important to reaffirm their following around the UK after losing out, as many of us have, on a few precious years in the wake of lockdowns and social distancing.
The album also takes it’s notes and words from those times that we are trying to now stretch ourselves away from, with the return to “normality” and a more social existence...
What lies ahead for PVA? Only time will tell, but whatever they come up with, be sure to stick around.....
PVA will be on tour for the remainder of march and with a few dates across the summer. Full list of dates and times are available on their website
