TORA DAA

On 8th August, guitar pop phenomenon Tora Dahle Aagård and her band TORA DAA will release their new single “Baby Blue”, the second track to be unveiled from the band’s upcoming album, set for release on 26th September. The album launch will be followed by an extensive release tour across Norway and abroad.

In recent years, TORA DAA has toured extensively throughout Europe, captivating an ever-growing international audience. Earlier this year, Tora was commissioned to compose a work of music for one of Norway’s biggest music festivals – Trondheim Jazzfest – praised by festival director Ernst Wiggo Sandbakk as “the best commissioned work in the festival’s history.” Several of these compositions will feature on the band’s upcoming studio album.

– “‘Baby Blue’ is a playful, unpolished and charming little blues tune. I wanted to build it around a classic blues riff and see how much I could get out of one simple idea. It’s not predictable, but it doesn’t feel unfamiliar either. I think it’s a perfect mix of recognizable tricks topped with unexpected and exciting spice,” says Tora Dahle Aagård.

Celebrated for her catchy songwriting and timeless sound, Tora’s style draws comparisions to icons such as Prince, Michael Jackson and John Mayer. With three critically acclaimed albums behind them, masterful musicianship, and a stage presence that continues to impress, TORA DAA has firmly established itself as one of Norway’s most compelling live acts.

UK audiences will have the opportunity to experience TORA DAA live at Hootananny in London on September 28.
