Australian indie rockers The Buoys share brand new track ‘Alone In Vegas’, out today (August 21st), and announce a UK/EU headline tour for February 2027. This will follow the band’s ‘Concrete Cowboy’ LP (pre-order here), set for release October 23rd via Sony Music Australia / Music For Nations (Gossip, Maruja, VLURE)

A reflection of their softer side, ‘Alone In Vegas’ exemplifies the vulnerability that has become synonymous with The Buoys over the years. Taking inspiration from the 80s-cult classic Desert Hearts, their newest LP reveal hits just as hard as their gut-punching rock, giving audiences an avenue to momentarily escape into a world driven by warmth and unbridled joy.

Speaking of the single, the band added: “‘Alone In Vegas’ is kind of like a sequel to Desert Hearts (1985) which ends without you knowing if the two lead characters, Cay and Vivian have a happily ever after. ‘Alone In Vegas’ imagines that Cay and Vivian run into each other in the future in Vegas before getting married and moving to New York together”.

Newly-announced to support Foo Fighters in November (in addition to previous Arctic Monkeys and Royal Blood tour supports), the band have already received acclaim from the likes of NME, The Line Of Best Fit and Rough Trade following the release of LP lead single ‘Welcome To My Brain’ earlier this summer. Crafted from years of demos, lyrical musings, guitar progressions and deep personal reflections, the group’s forthcoming record is produced by Chris Collins (Gang of Youths, Matt Corby) with co-writes from Alistair Hayes, Fletcher Matthews, Konstantin Kerstin and Dylan Ollivierre. While debut LP ‘Lustre’ saw them exploring their sonic capabilities and delving into a new range of genres, ‘Concrete Cowboy’ is the distillation of their signature sound and thoughtfully intuitive songwriting.

The exploration in ‘Concrete Cowboy’ is seen within the eclectic sonic inspirations from Adrienne Lenker and The 1975, to HAIM and The Beths, as well as the lyrical revelations sparked by 80s cult classic films, Roman poetry, personal dream sequences and so much more. Featuring previous singles ‘Bitch’, ‘Kill You Back’ and lead single ‘Welcome To My Brain’, this new body of work stays true to what The Buoys do best, balancing the introspective storytelling moments, with the uncontained, gut punching rock they bring to every live show.
