Glasgow newcomers Tanzana sign to SO Recordings (Enter Shikari, Deadletter, Big Special) & Hideous Mink Records (Alien Chicks, Opus Kink, Y), and release debut single ‘Covet’ (video here - directed by Celia Hackford), out today (November 11th) following last night's BBC 6 Music Steve Lamacq premiere.

Newly-signed to the esteemed indie label partners, Tanzana’s trip-hop influenced alternative rock has already earned countless admirers within the vibrant Scottish scene, leading to a date alongside Lucia & The Best Boys, and the band themselves hosting their very own club night at King Tut’s last summer.

Fresh from a UK live run supporting Cliffords earlier this month and three shows at Left Of The Dial, the emerging quintet are primed to play cult London venue The George Tavern later this week (November 13th) as part of The Great Escape’s ‘First Fifty’ showcase series. With further live dates also in the works for the coming months, as well as further new material, Tanzana are primed for what promises to be a mammoth year ahead.

Speaking ahead of their first release, the group explained: “Lyrically ‘Covet’ represents feelings of obsession and longing for something that’s out of reach and musically we were inspired by nature and the destruction of it’”.
