Sweets has shared his new single ‘Weird Money’, out now via Soul Kitchen/EMI North. It is the latest from his next project, due later this year and after a string of incredible live shows with Deki Alem, NOISY Kneecap and Anthony Szmierek

‘Weird Money’ is one of the most striking productions to date from Sweets. It highlights his daring, musicality and original approach, bending wavy pop hooks around his idiosyncratic delivery.

‘Weird Money’ is a song written for the ones who feel separate from the framework. “Weird” was always a word that could get under Sweets’ skin. Especially being from Newcastle, where eccentricities could often find conflict. The power Sweets feels barking about his weirdness makes this song an important one to him. However the footholds of life didn’t fit for you, ‘weird’ is Sweets summation.

‘Weird Money’ follows two of Sweets strongest tracks to date inREAL PEOPLE and the deeply personal and affecting SEIZURE’. The latter is a searingly raw account of the overwhelming fear and anxiety that came in the wake of his epilepsy diagnosis at the turn of the year.

Despite further seizures, including one suffered while recording another track, Sweets has proved his determination in getting back to the studio and doing the thing he loves most, creating personal art with a message and SEIZURE ultimately offered hope and perseverance as its ultimate message.

Despite these challenges, 2025 has been a breakthrough year for Sweets. Featured on Huw Stephens’ “Huw Are You” on BBC 6 Music and championed by BBC Radio 1 and BBC Introducing, he maintained a twelve-week run in the Amazing Radio chart and was tipped for success in 2025 by both platforms. Sweets has also gained attention from the likes of Wonderland, DIY, NME, F Word, Clash, DMY, and The Line Of Best Fit.

Live, Sweets’ authenticity and intensity have earned him a growing reputation. He has opened for his personal favourites Deki Alem in Manchester, Kneecap, Anthony Szmierek via a personal invitation, and has supported GANS, Everyone You Know and BBY along the way.
