Hawkwind have announced a Summer Solstice Festival Warm Up Show in Salisbury.

The legendary rock group will be taking over the prestigious City Hall venue on Friday 12 June as they gear up for the longest day in style.

With a career spanning nearly 60 years and over 35 studio albums, Hawkwind have continually pushed the boundaries of sound, concept, and performance. 

Renowned as pioneers of the space rock genre, their pulverising live concerts meld driving rhythms, swirling synths, and otherworldly visuals into an immersive, ritualistic experience - with a full laser show.

Hawkwind are perhaps best known for "Silver Machine", which charted as Top 3 UK smash single in 1972, whilst the Top 40 hit "Urban Guerrilla" and "Shot Down in the Night" are amongst their all time most recognised tracks. Hawkwind notably had a run of twenty-two albums chart in the UK from 1971 to 1993, and another nine between 2012 and 2024. Still very much active in the studio, the band released their most recent (and thirty-seventh) album ‘There Is No Space For Us’ in 2025 via Cherry Red Records. 

One of just a handful of shows booked in for this year, prepare for a journey through decades of genre-defining music at Salisbury City Hall this June. From classic anthems to experimental soundscapes, hear them all delivered with the energy and vision that have made Hawkwind one of rock’s most enduring and influential acts.
