Alt-folk artist Freya Everest presents ‘Honey TV’, an enchanting alt-folk single arriving July 24, from London-based singer-songwriter.

With live cello, an upright piano and minimal, abstract lyricism, Freya’s latest single is a more traditional, folk-infused track akin to Haley Heynderickx’ The Bug Collector. A top-line, that moves quickly between surreal and prosaic, compliments the harmony-rich production, leaving a track that’s as charming as it is poetic.

“Honey TV was written using magnetic poetry” Freya explains. “I was playing around with the words when the line ‘here by the honey TV’ emerged. I wondered what that could mean, what might a TV made of Honey represent? To me it was sweet, decadent peace.”

At it’s core ‘Honey TV’ aims to capture the cosiness, warmth and safety one feels when truly home. For Freya that is sat on the sofa with her cat and favourite people, chatting, snuggling, watching TV.

“There is a magical charm to these moments. I imagine the loving energies present creating a protective shield around you.”

Sonically, ‘Honey TV’ leans into Freya’s love of acoustic instrumentation, abstract lyricism and kooky production. Her velvety vocal delivery floats on top of the cello, and intricate, trance-like backing vocals create an otherworldly aural landscape. A carefully arranged piano part peppered throughout the track completes it’s whimsical, dreamlike feeling.

With ‘Honey TV’, Freya Everest drops a hug in musical form. She invites us to cherish the small moments, spend time with the people we care about the most, and quietly rebel against a world growing increasingly disconnected from what really matters.

London-based singer-songwriter, producer and artist Freya Everest creates genre-blurring music that fuses alt-folk, jazz, art pop and electronic influences. Drawing from the city’s rich cultural landscape, her work moves between organic instrumentation and experimental production, combining guitar, synths and alternative textures to craft mellow, immersive soundscapes. Her “holy trinity” of inspirations - Joni Mitchell, Fela Kuti and Four Tet - underpins a sound rooted in lyrical depth, rhythmic complexity and electronic experimentation. A graduate of the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance, Freya has performed across London at venues including The Social, Strongroom, The Camden Chapel, The Finsbury, The Waiting Room and The Harrison. Alongside her music, she works across visual art and design, reflecting a multidisciplinary practice that shapes her distinct artistic identity.
