Northampton garage-rock duo Fountain have today released the hotly anticipated new EP 'Big Bag Of New Nothings'. The EP comes with the exhilarating new lead single ‘Dog’, showcasing the band's blend of punk energy and raw garage rock musicality. The EP showcases the duo's growth, with moments of intensity and drive and others of more melodic, blues tinted indie-rock but still keeping the boxy, crunching tone which makes the duo instantly recognisable. The new single ‘Dog’ displays the visceral instant sense of immediacy which the duo can summon, delivering on the energy of their live shows whilst retaining a catchy flourish through the vocal melodies.
Talking about the track the band explains: “With ‘Dog’ we set out to write something nihilistic and rebellious as a response to the ugliness and far too often intolerableness of the World.
"Believing you have to be relentless like a rabid animal to deal with the nature of our reality.”
The single continues Fountain’s steady rise within the UK’s alt-rock scene. Formed in 2023, the pair quickly earned national attention with early releases that showcased their cinematic garage-rock style. Their debut headline show sold out in advance, and their festival performances throughout 2024 solidified their reputation as one to watch.

Having already received notable radio and press support, including BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 6 Music, Radio X and BBC Introducing, their music has also gained attention from tastemaker press including New Noise, Mystic Sons, DORK, Earmilk and Louder Than War alongside features on regional BBC stations across the UK.
Influenced by the raw energy of The OSEES, Queens of the Stone Age, and The Black Keys, and the cinematic textures of Ennio Morricone and Duane Eddy, Fountain blend garage rock grit with widescreen ambition. Their sound is defined by tension and release, Ally bringing structure and precision, Jordan adding chaos and flair - a chemistry that fuels every moment of ‘Son Of A Gun’.
