“Liverpool’s underground experimentalists…a sound that’s chaotic, cathartic, and defiant” Dork Magazine
“A raucous landscape of unruly riffs, overlaid by vocoder-splashed vocals and existentially questioning lyricism” DIY Magazine
“DBA! slither between lo-fi indie rock and fractured psych-folk” CMU
Liverpool alt-rock specialists DBA! announce second EP ‘I was born, I was dead’, set for release May 22nd, and share new track ‘Falling out’, out today (March 3rd).
Emerging from the gritty underbelly of Merseyside’s music scene, DBA! was birthed in a DIY demo studio tucked into the literal basement drain of a Liverpool nightclub, with the band becoming major figures in the city’s indie landscape over the last 18 months as momentum continues to build. Heavily influenced by the likes of Eels, Pavement, The Breeders, Elastica and Beck, the group have since earned widespread recognition following the release of debut EP ‘skip! Worried’ last year, with BBC 6 Music figureheads Iggy Pop, Huw Stephens, Craig Charles, Abbie McCarthy and Emily Pilbeam all delivering countless plaudits.
Marking the follow-up to EP lead single ‘a poet and a clown’, the quartet’s latest effort ‘Falling out’ showcases their trademark sensibilities, with key indie titans Dork Magazine, DIY Magazine, So Young, Rolling Stone UK, The Line Of Best Fit, CMU and Rough Trade all lending their support to the band; whilst on the live front, the band will be making their debut trip stateside for New Colossus Festival in New York City later this week, before a summer of festival appearances take shape. Speaking ahead of their single release, frontman Sam Warren explained: “It’s a track touching on the feelings of restriction and claustrophobia in situations that you find yourself clinging on to for the wrong reasons, and then the subsequent sentiments of relief and renewal that come with the decision to let go”.

DBA!’s ‘Falling out’ is out now and available on all digital platforms.
