First up we had stand in support Bleech 9:3 though not sure why they were on instead of the original support band but who's to worry... they gave us half an hour of great guitar driven blasts. They have lived a life already, the songs containing battles with alcoholism and surviving with friendship as a crutch in their home... Dublin.

For shame, well into their Massive Monster Europe 2025 Tour, it was straight into the action with frontman Charlie Steen patrolling every inch of the stage and beyond, he was wearing what looked like a clerical dog collar, maybe a fashion statement or something else entirely?

The more "rounded" sounding Cutthroat album was front and centre of the evening, the honest lyrics essential to shame's approach to the world today. The title track of the album plus "Spartak", "Cowards Around" and "Quiet Life" all declare this world is tough and the people in it can be tough to get along with and understand their actions.

The rest of the set is split pretty evenly between the first 3 LP's , "Alphabet" leading to a mass rumble in the mosh pit as does "Water in the Well" both from Drunk Tank Pink. Shame have been possibly understandably associated with Idles and particularly Squid, sounding energetic and momentously original in 2025 is near impossible but shame pull out some rabbits from hats consistently.... The night finishes with bassist Josh Finerty hitting the heights literally on his invisible pogo stick with Charlie Steen surfing the crowd desperately trying to hang on to his microphone. A great finish to an accomplished set of songs.
