Then Jerico Acoustic perform at The Pizza Express in Holborn London
Mark Shaw, accompanied by acoustic guitarist Ollie Brum performed authentic versions of the back catalogue

Artist - Then Jerico (Acoustic)
Venue - Pizza Express
Town - Holborn London UK

It was a first time at this venue in London, a chilled and easy atmosphere to tune in and enjoy an artist at very close range. In this case it was Then Jerico playing an acoustic set of authentic versions and reworked interpretations of the hit singles, and much more.

Charismatic original front man Mark Shaw relishes performing, it is in his genes (Jeans too?) and the busy venue / restaurant was home to a very loving audience, clearly hardened original fans. For Mark Shaw accompanied by maestro acoustic guitarist Ollie Brum it was a breeze as the crowd was on his side as soon as they had finished their prosecco's and Italian cuisine.

Mark Shaw really can pack a punch, his vocals are excellent as those solo and Then Jerico songs were mostly pushing the ol' vocal chords. He also took on The Eagles monumental Desperado with kudos to his version. A bash through Bowie's Suffragette City may have been easier but still given the gusto required.

Of course it was the Then Jerico songs that mattered with What Does It Take? played early on with the sound of Belinda Carlisle's backing vocals playing along in your mind... Muscle Deep, Sugar Box, The Motive, You Ought To Know and Darkest Hour all greeted like old chums. The BIG! number The Big Area had them on their feet and it really is an eighties classic maybe overlooked by the Radio stations you all know. PS.. the Pizza was excellent too!
