THE WILD THINGS on Tour at The O2 Islington Academy
Anthemic sky bustin' tunes galore

Artist: The Wild Things
Venue: O2 Academy Islington
Town: London
Date: 18.9.25

Heading out on their Headline Tour to re-promote the second album Afterglow, The Wild Things look clearly excited to be back in front an audience as their charismatic lead singer Sydney Rae White is pleased to state early on in the show. She packs a punch with crystal clear powerful vocals she runs the show from start to finish. The set has no filler, they have written hook laden rock anthems that draw from the 70's and 80's with a sprinkling of the 90's for good measure. The good thing for The Wild Things is though their is a sound of previous times there isn't an obvious artist that immediately jumps out as an influence. In essence they have their own sound!

The band are Cameron White (bass), Rob Kendrick (guitar), and Pete Wheeler (drums). There are connections within the band as Cameron is the brother of Sydney Rae White while she is married to Rob Kendrick, wow, I hope they don't suffer from musical differences I'd hate to see the fallout!! Anyway that looks highly unlikely as the onstage interplay and understanding was genuinely for real....

The history of the band involves the legend that is Pete Townshend who produced and played on the album Afterglow. That's quite a name to drop at parties and may of come from the involvement of Rae White and Kendrick dipping their toes in the acting world for the Quadrophenia Stage Show.
