KROOKED TONGUE Review of their Brighton Show
A stellar Night at The Green Door Store last Thursday

Artist: Krooked Tongue
Venue: The Green Door Store
Town: Brighton
Date: 29.1.26

Krooked Tongue
Krooked Tongue have been pushing their melodic Indie/ Rock through releases from way back in 2019 and now a new relationship with TRUST Artists live roster, we can hopefully see them in their Live environment more often. I caught them Thursday night at The Green Door Store under Brighton Station, anticipating something special.

The band consist of Oli Rainsford (lead vocals, bass), Dan Smith (guitar, vocals), and Harry Pritchard (drums) they produce Riff laden Rock anthems containing wonderful shout out chorus's pushed along by Rainsford's chunking, overdriven bass. They have a formidable arsenal to draw from with songs such as "Drugstore Cowboy", "Let 'em loose" and "Nothing ever grows" amongst a plethora of similar quality compositions.

The band can also take the welly down when needed as on the excellent "Marigold" where Rainsford can express himself in lighter tones. They have shown that they can diversify as exampled by last year's release "I don't believe in ghosts".... maybe a pointer in the direction and mix they can drive towards.

This little burst of Live shows comes before the triumphant release of the debut album I Know A Place, coming out on April 24th, 2026. In advance there is a single called "Blood Shark" this February, which they performed in Brighton and it shone brightly as it demonstrates all the strengths of the band. In conclusion the coming few months look pivotal to Krooked Tongue's efforts with this release from the studio and I can only see them creeping up the live venue ladder, grab your chance to see them when they undoubtedly promote I Know a Place... it makes total sense.....
