DMA’S brought their anthemic indie-rock back to Kingston last night, treating a full room to an unforgettable, acoustic album launch show. They were playing at Circuit in Kingston Upon Thames, a venue used by Banquet Records for a lot of their "Outstore" album launches.

The Australian trio proved exactly why the UK has become their home away from home. There may well have been a fair few Aussie's in attendance for a taste of home but the bulk were fans from these shores who clearly have followed the band's releases over the years.

Tommy O'Dell

Tommy O'Dell, Johnny Took, and Matt Mason stepped out onto the intimate stage, the appreciation delivered in whoops and cheers was felt by the 3 band members as they gathered their instruments with what looked like a touch of nerves. This was a different show as explained by Took as a thank you to their fans and to provide an alternative way to project their music

The band wasted no time diving into their brand new, self-titled fifth album DMA'S. New tracks like the massive "Heatin Park" got a raucous reception—with its huge chorus already feeling like a seasoned singalong classic

"My Baby's Place" slowed things down just enough to show off their dreamy, nostalgic textures, proving that the band can still favor raw authenticity over studio perfection in a live setting

Of course, it wouldn't be a DMA’S show without the classics. With "Lay Down" the response was as one, all sense of reserve being forgotten, O'Dell backed away from the microphone to let the crowd hurl the choruses back at the stage.

Johnny Took

The New Album is a winner and may take the band another step as the melodies are immediate and soaked with that heartfelt emotion, the record also provides a freshness in it's sound with a strong sense of keeping it real
