In huge news, Wolf Alice are pleased to confirm that their latest album The Clearing has been shortlisted for the 2025 Mercury Prize.

Having topped the UK album chart on release last month, The Clearing has received unwavering praise across the board resulting in the seminal British band’s creative output being acknowledged for the FOURTH time in the history of the much coveted prize. That’s four out of four across their 10 year career, making Wolf Alice the only band in Mercury Prize history to achieve a 100% nomination rate across a four album discography.

In reaction to the announcement, Wolf Alice shared: “It’s an honour to be shortlisted for a Mercury Prize for the fourth time. As an institution, it’s always championed leftfield and alternative music and put it in the spotlight for a mainstream audience, which is just amazing. It’s been an important part of the Wolf Alice story and something that’s always so fun to be a part of.”

Their first Mercury Prize nomination came in 2015 for their debut My Love Is Cool, which featured the Grammy-nominated Moaning Lisa Smile. The follow up Visions Of A Life in 2017 cemented their rise and resulted in a Mercury Prize win, before the precious hurt of Blue Weekend in 2021 led them to being shortlisted for a third time alongside a Brit Award for Best British Group.

The Clearing is a confident selection of songs bursting with ambition, ideas and emotion that has every chance of doing the double this year.
