Life is looking rosy for The Slow Readers Club. They are buoyed by the news that they have a slot on the bill with a huge gig for Morrissey, a towering influence on their own careers . As well as the news any band love to hear: the current Tour is  selling out. With this it is a perfect time to be watching from the front again at The Wedgewood Rooms on my second visit in a week.

New songs from  Knowledge Freedom Power  are  sprinkled within the set.  Already becoming fan favourite tracks, are the title song and Modernise. TSRC have their well honed sound nailed down tonight and for a first time seeing the band live they cruise and rumble like a V8 holding  the power in reserve when needed. during the blistering live set.

The Slow Readers Club are no strangers to success, having shot onto the UK's album chart with their third album Build a Tower climbing to number 18 in the charts.

The band were roaring having charted again twice with their fourth album: The Joy of the Return, and lock down EP: 91 days of Isolation, but like many touring bands, they were victims of the pandemic.

They lost some of that momentum they had been building, and had to bounce back with their new Album Knowledge Freedom Power and the subsequent Promotional Tour

This, they most certainly did, with a European headline tour promoting their most recent release: Knowledge, Freedom, Power spreading the tones of Manchester as far afield as Antwerp and Hamburg.
